BuildReading

Learn one pattern. Unlock a whole family of words.

Your child learns the little chunk AT, then builds cat, bat, hat, mat, rat, and sat the very same day. A warm teaching voice guides every sound, and real read-along stories turn building into reading.

How it works

Three steps, every single unit.

1
๐Ÿงฉ

Meet one pattern

Today's lesson is the AT family. Together those letters say "at". That is the only new thing your child has to learn.

2
๐Ÿ”จ

Build every word

The voice teaches each sound: "Cat starts with kuh. Tap the letter that says kuh!" Your child builds the word, then says it out loud.

3
๐Ÿ“š

Read real stories

"The fat cat sat on the mat." Their own words come back in read-along sentences, highlighted karaoke style as the voice reads.

What's inside

Built like a curriculum. Played like a game.

  • 69 families and 359 words across ALL SEVEN levels, free during early access
  • The complete 7-level journey to about age 12: blends, magic e, vowel teams, compounds, prefixes
  • Every word taught out loud by a real teaching voice, never robot beeps
  • Read-along stories, quizzes, Daily Review, and streaks
  • Printable certificates with your child's name on them
  • The Grown-Ups Corner shows exactly which words need practice

Calm by design, for every kind of learner.

BuildReading was built with kids who learn differently in mind, including autistic kids and kids with dyslexia. Every instruction is spoken aloud, the structure repeats predictably, wrong answers get gentle coaching with unlimited retries, and there are no timers and no losing.

Calm Mode is coming to the Family plan: softer sounds, fewer animations, extra repetition, and a slower pace, one switch in the Grown-Ups Corner that changes all three apps at once.

๐Ÿ”Š Every word spoken out loud
๐Ÿ” Same predictable lesson shape every time
๐Ÿšซ No timers, no buzzers, no game over

The Build Learning family

One account. Three apps that work together.

Your child's name and progress carry across every app. And with the Family plan's Build It All daily missions, one mission word gets read in BuildReading, counted in BuildMath, and written in BuildWrite, every day.

Questions

Parents ask, we answer.

What age is BuildReading for?

It starts at ages 5 to 7 with simple families like AT and OG, and the 7-level journey grows with your child to about age 12. A strong 4-year-old can start early, and an older child catching up never feels talked down to.

Is it free?

The first 3 lessons in each app are free, including the teaching voice, stories, Daily Review, and your child's first printable certificate. The Family plan opens every lesson in BuildReading, BuildMath and BuildWrite for $9.99 a month.

How is it different from other reading apps?

Most apps drill random flashcards. BuildReading teaches the pattern behind the words, so one small chunk unlocks a whole family at once, and the words come back in stories until they stick.
